I’m telling myself that these doughnuts are a little healthier than others because they’re baked instead of fried. And I will keep repeating that until I eat them all! Lol.
The doughnuts are pretty simple to make. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and butter in a bowl. Use a piping bag to place the batter into a silicon doughnut pan. A silicon pan makes it easier to remove the doughnuts from the pan. Bake them in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes. So simple and without having to heat a pot of oil!
These buttermilk baked vanilla doughnuts are frosted with a guava glaze using Bonita Gourmet’s guava jam. I added the jam to powdered sugar and vanilla, making a smooth guava glaze. I dipped the still warm doughnuts into the glaze and it was delicious!
If you’re going to make baked doughnuts, then this is the way to go!
