What’s Your Favorite Waffle Recipe?
Whenever the kids have a day off from school, whether is a holiday or due to bad weather, we tend to always have waffles.
These buttermilk waffles are so delicious. The are crispy on the out side, and soft on the inside. The perfect combination.
And they are so easy to make. Simple mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and soda, cornstarch and salt. Add a egg, buttermilk, butter, and milk. Bake in a waffle iron until done.
You can also make different variations. Add fruit, pumpkin puree, mashed bananas, or even chocolate to the batter! The possibilities are endless!
Vanilla Buttermilk Waffles
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2-3 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Pre- heat waffle iron. Add all dry ingredients to a mixing bowl. Add egg and buttermilk. Whisk. Add enough milk so that batter runs smooth. Add melted butter. Add about 1/4 cup of batter to waffle iron, depending on the size of the iron. Bake according to directions. Serve with fresh fruit and syrup.
