I have only recently began eating and baking with Nutella. It’s so delicious! I can’t believe I haven’t been eating it my whole life!
The mixture of hazelnuts ground, smoothed and added to creamy rich chocolate is absolutely irresistible!
So of course I had to make something delicious with it like these Nutella Pots De Creme. They are creamy, delicious, and full of chocolate. Perfect for World Nutella Day!
Pots De Creme is a French dessert and translates to pots of custard, which also refers to what they are served in. The texture is also a little looser than other types of custards, but is just as decadent and delicious.
Eggs, cream, sugar, vanilla, chocolate and Nutella is all there is to it!
Pots De Creme:
3 eggs
1/2 cup Nutella
1 oz semi sweet chocolate
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
3 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish
Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees.
In a small saucepan over medium heat add cream, Nutella and chocolate until melted. Remove from heat.
In a bowl whisk eggs, vanilla and sugar. Slowly pour in the chocolate cream mixture while whisking until fully incorporated. Strain mixture, then pour into 3 small glass containers. Place glasses into a small roasting pan and fill the pan half way up with warm water. Place in the oven for 25-30 minutes. Remove from pan and cool. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
