(Ad) The Mint Julep is a Southern Cocktail Tradition. It’s usually consists of bourbon, sugar, water, crushed or shaved ice, and fresh mint.
The Mint Julep’s moment to shine is typically during Kentucky’s most popular race!
But because of this year’s current world climate and the Pandemic, the race has been postponed until September.
So, I’ve partnered with Maker’s Mark to create a Fall inspired Mint Julep Cocktail!
This one has the Classic Bourbon, mint and simple syrup, with the added flavors of Orange and Caramel.

Fall inspired Orange Caramel Mint Julep
Classic Southern Mint Julep with a New Fall twist!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 - 2 oz mint simple syrup (equal parts water and sugar with 4-5 mint leaves cooked until dissolved)
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tsp caramel syrup
- 2 parts Maker's Mark Bourbon
- ice
- mint leaves for garnish
- small orange slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a shaker, add bourbon, orange juice, simple syrup, caramel and ice. Shake and pour in a crushed ice filled glass. Garnish with orange slices and mint leaves
