Have You Used Blood Orange Juice in a Cocktail?
My favorite winter fruit is hands down, the Blood Orange! And would you believe that I only had it for the first time 2 years ago. Lol!
The first time I cut into one, I was amazed by its deep red color. I knew it was going to be red, but just seeing it myself was beautiful.
So, now that citrus season is here and blood oranges are finally in the stores, I had to make a Blood Orange Vodka Soda. With just a few ingredients, you have a perfect cocktail!
Start with squeezing fresh blood orange juice and pour it into a cocktail shaker. Add some simple syrup, vodka a squeeze of lime and ice. Pour in a highball glass over ice and finish it with club soda. I added a slice of blood orange that a sprinkled a little sugar on and took a hand torch to. This made such a beautiful garnish. And I added a sprig of rosemary to top it off.
Beautiful cocktail to enjoy this winter. Cheers!
