Buttermilk Baked Guava Glazed Vanilla Doughnuts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp melted butter

Guava Glaze

  • 1/4 cup guava jam by Bonita Gourmet
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Doughnuts

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray a silicon doughnut pan with cooking spray.  Mix all of the dry ingredients in a bowl.  Add egg, buttermilk, vanilla and butter.  Mix well.  Place a pastry bag in a glass to make it stable.  Pour batter into the bag and cut off the end when ready to use.  Pipe batter into the doughnut pan filling it 3/4 of the way.  Bake for 15-20 minutes.  Cool on a wire rack.  Then repeat with more batter.  

Guava Glaze

  • Mix all ingredients.  Dip the tops of doughnuts into the glaze and place on a wire rack until set.
