Chocolate Layer Cake with Lavender Buttercream

Spread the love

This week I took inspiration from Constellation Inspiration’s creations of combining flowers with cakes (but I wasn’t listening to Drake. My daughter’s Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes was playing in the background. Lol!).

I love the beauty in putting both together. I just started using flowers with my baking for pictures. It really made a the pictures come alive and adds so much to them.

So, I decided to make a Chocolate Layer Cake with Lavender Buttercream. I used a lavender syrup to the frosting.

Using flower syrups in food can be a bit much if you add the wrong amount. It can be very overpowering. I just added about 2 teaspoons. You can add more or less depending on your taste.

I also used a light purple food gel to color the vanilla frosting. The color and and the flavoring made such a beautiful and delicious frosting and cake.
