Red Velvet Brownies

Spread the love

We love brownies and we love red velvet cake.  So, I decided to combine the two and make red velvet brownies.  It’s the best of both worlds!

I have wanted to try making these for such a long time.  I’ve seen pictures of them on Pinterest so often, I had to try them for myself.

I chose to use my own brownie recipe because I really love it.  To make them red velvet, I decreased the amount of cocoa powder.  You do not want them to come out too dark.  You want the red to really come through.  Then, I added red food color and vinegar, as if I was making red velvet cake.  It was the same concept.

These came out beautifully bright red with a hint of chocolate flavoring.  You can add more chocolate if you want too but not too much to change the color.

These really were a big hit.  I will definitely make these again!
