I’ve always liked tea. In fact, if I had to choose between tea or coffee, my vote would be for tea. But no one drinks tea as much as my godmother. I think it’s her favorite drink! As a kid, I used to only drink hot tea with sugar and lemon. She showed me how to add milk instead of the lemon. It was really delicious!
To this day, I drink it both ways. So I certainly wanted to try milk in an iced tea too. I made a Creamy Vanilla Chai Iced Tea.
I found a vanilla chai tea that I really like to start off as a basis. If you can not find a tea that already has vanilla in it then you can add about a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Steep the tea, remove the tea bags, add the sugar, then let it cool and then refrigerate until you’re ready to use it. Pour the tea into 2 glasses filled with ice. Then I used half & half (1/2 milk, 1/2 heavy cream) cream. I like the richness without it being too rich. You can also use just milk, all heavy cream or a non dairy creamer like almond, coconut, or cashew milk. All work great.
Pour in the milk and give it a stir to blend, and there you have a perfect drink!
Glasses are Libbey Can Shaped Beer Glass.
