There’s nothing like homemade artisan bread. This is a quick yeast not sourdough recipe, which may be easier for some.

The result is still a delicious, tender, crusty bread which can be used for sandwiches, French toast or just sliced with butter.

3 cups flour

2 tsp salt

1 tsp yeast

1 1/2 cups warm water

Add all dry ingredients to a stand mixer. Add water and mix with a dough hook on medium speed. Knead for 1 minute. Transfer to an oiled bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and leave at room temperature for 12-18 hours.

Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees. Place a covered Dutch oven inside for 30 minutes.

While it heats. Shape dough into a round. And place on a large piece of parchment paper. With a sharp knife or blade cross cut the top of the dough. Remove Pot from the oven use the ends of the parchment paper to place the dough into the Dutch oven. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until browned.
