Sometimes making a Christmas gift is better than anything you can get at a store. This homemade Red Velvet Swirled Christmas Fudge is perfect for everyone on your gift list this year.
What is Fudge?
Fudge is a soft candy made from sugar, butter, and milk or cream and usually chocolate. For this Red Velvet Swirled Christmas Fudge, I used white and milk chocolate chips, vanilla, butter, red food color and Eagle Brand Milk condensed milk. Condensed milk is made with whole milk and sugar and is reduced until it’s thickened. It’s the perfect ingredient to make the fudge rich and give it a silky smooth texture.
How is the Red Velvet Swirled Christmas Fudge put together?
Place 2 cups of white chocolate chips and 1 cup of milk chocolate chips into a medium sized bowl. You want more white chips than brown so that the red color shows through more.
Pour 1 can of condensed milk over the chips. Microwave for 45-60 seconds, then remove. The chocolate chips will not look melted when you remove them from the microwave, but they will be. Stir mixture until all of the chips are melted and the mixture is smooth. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla. Then, add food coloring and stir. If it is not red enough, add more color a half of teaspoon at a time until desired red color is achieved. Set aside.
Pour 3 cups white chocolate chips into the other bowl. Add another can of condensed milk and microwave and stir the same way as the first bowl. Mix in 1 tablespoon of vanilla then, set bowl aside.
To get that swirled look, drop random spoonfuls of each of the red and white mixture into the lined pan so they look like patchwork. Keep adding spoonfuls until all the mixture is in the pan.
Take a knife and swirl the fudge so that it creates patterns.
Place the pan in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours, or overnight. You want the fudge to me very cold, so that it stays solid when cutting.
When the fudge fully chilled, cut into squares and serve.
With just 5 ingredients, including Eagle Brand Milk condensed milk, it’s easy to make and oh so delicious.
This is the gift that your friends and loved ones will want!
