Apple Gallette

Ingredients

  • 3 apples, cored & sliced
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crust dough
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp turbinado sugar

Instructions

  • Roll pie crust out into a circle, sprinkle with 2 Tbsp of sugar, and put it to the side until you prepare the apples.
    Peel and core 3 apples. Thinly slice the apples and arrange them on the pie dough it a pattern or just place them down to fill the center. Leave about 2 inches of the crust exposed around the sides. Sprinkle the apples with the remaining granulated sugar. Add the cinnamon and nutmeg. Fold up the edges of the crust all around. Brush the crust with a beaten egg, then sprinkle on the Turbinado sugar.
    Bake it a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes or until browned. Cool on a wire rack and serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
