Fall Leaf Classic Apple Pie

Spread the love

Living in the North East, we get to experience the beautiful Fall foliage. Beautiful red, orange and yellow leaves on the trees. It inspired me to make a Fall Leaf design to my Classic Apple Pie. Perfect for Sunday dinners and for the holidays.

The key to making these leaves is to not use traditional cookie cutters. Instead, use plungers. The difference is that the cookie cutter just cuts out the outer shape of the leaf. The plunger gives the leaf a 3D shape. All of the impressions and indentations are shown. This makes the leaves look so real and beautiful!

Make the dough and cut out the leaves the night before and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze the leaves overnight to hold their shape and place them on top of the pie filling the next day.  Here is the Apple Pie recipe.
